About the Mountain Laurel Gallery

Chuck Wheeler, the owner of Mountain Laurel Gallery comes from generations of family who loved owning their own business.

"My grandfather owned a general store and I am drawn to American crafts.  I always enjoyed collecting," he says.

Located on the corner of Washington Street and Fairfax Street in the spa/resort town of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, the Mountain Laurel Gallery offers an outstanding collection of designer jewelry, wearable art, contemporary American crafts and fine art.   Since opening in 1997, Mountain Laurel has been a showcase for handmade work by American craftspeople. Featuring about 125 local, regional and nationally known American contemporary artists, Mountain Laurel's top-selling crafts are jewelry, wearables and pottery.

With an ample space of 2,500 square feet that spans three floors and seven rooms, there is something for everyone including jewelry, wearable art, glass, wood, metal, home decor and fine art.  Wearable art and accessories are the focus of the gallery's second floor boutique and includes fine woven pieces including clothing, hats, bags and scarves. The third floor features a fine arts gallery with original paintings in watercolor, oil and acrylic, as well as sculpture, art furniture and prints.
